Guy de Maupassant (1850-1893) is also called the grand master of the short story. He was one of the most popular authors in France during his lifetime. However, he had a not too positive outlook on life. He thought this was an adventure without any purpose. Nevertheless, he has managed to reach a large audience with his "titillating" stories. The TROS has had a number of stories adapted into television short films by Anton Quintana. And with great success. Jan Keja even received an Emmy Award for one of the stories, De Vlieg.
